Waste-to-Energy Policy, Compliance, and Optimisation

Seeds follows policy developments related to the Waste-to-Energy (WtE) sector, such as the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), the Waste Framework Directive (WFD), and the Renewable Energy Directive (RED). We conduct performance and emissions monitoring, assess renewable energy integration, review technologies, and provide data analysis and benchmarking to ensure compliance with BAT-AELs and EU targets.

Waste-to-Energy Policy, Compliance, and Optimisation
  1. Regulatory and policy support: Navigating EU and national regulations, including the Industrial Emissions Directive (IED), Waste Framework Directive (WFD), and Renewable Energy Directive (RED).
  2. Performance and emissions monitoring: Assessing technical and regulatory compliance with BAT-AELs, CO₂ emissions reporting, and energy efficiency benchmarks (R1 factor, BAT on energy efficiency).
  3. Renewable energy and circular economy: Analysing national methodologies for calculating the renewable energy share from WtE.
  4. Technology assessment and innovation: Reviewing measuring devices, emission control technologies, and energy recovery solutions, providing market surveys and feasibility studies for WtE investments.
  5. Data analysis and benchmarking: Supporting plant operators and industry associations with comparative studies on emissions, efficiency, and best practices, ensuring alignment with evolving EU targets.
